Raptors on display during open house

The Ojai Raptor Center will present its annual spring open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sun., April 9 at 370 Baldwin Road, Ojai.

The nonprofit rehabilitates and releases of birds of prey and other wildlife, and provides educational programs to teach communities about wildlife and sharing the environment.

At the event, attendees can see non-releasable raptors, and tour the center that is otherwise closed to the public year-round due to the sensitive nature of wildlife in rehabilitation.

Guests can view a variety of hawks, falcons, and owls. There will be stage presentations and activities for children and adults.

This spring’s open house theme will be “Baby Shower” as the center is preparing for nesting season, the busiest time of year when it’s in most need of support.

A silent auction will take place along with raffles for a chance to release a successfully rehabilitated raptor with ORC staff.

The store will be open and drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

Admittance is $5; children under 10 are free. Guests should not bring dogs.

Handicapped parking will be available. Additional parking with shuttle will be available a mile from the center.
