Classic radio shows are back on the air

Library program to discuss Golden Age


The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library will host a program on the Good Old Days of Radio at 2 p.m. Sun., May 15 at the Grant Brimhall Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

The special program will reminisce about the Golden Age of radio and discuss the historical collections of the American Radio Archives housed in the Thousand Oaks Library.

Jeanette Berard, special collections librarian, will lead attendees down memory lane with radio personalities such as Rudy Vallee, Frank Bresee, Marvin Miller and Norman Corwin as well as past radio shows such as “Fibber McGee and Molly,” “Whistler,” “Suspense,” “Golden Days of Radio” and “On a Note of Triumph.” She will also play some excerpts from various programs.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can participate in a radio trivia contest.
