Take a garden tour The Simi Valley/Moorpark Republican Women Federated will present its 18th annual Simi Valley Garden Tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., May 7 at six private local homes.
The tour is a self-guided stroll through flowers, plants and landscapes, which participants can view at their own pace and in any order. Each garden offers something special, such as a native landscape, a waterscape or an organic vegetable garden.
One home in a gated community features a waterfall. Another home has an outdoor kitchen and expansive bar.
The gardens are designed with varieties of plants, flagstone walking paths, pergolas and drought-resistant plants.
Visitors can stop by the club’s plant sale to make purchases in time for Mother’s Day.
The garden tour is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Simi Valley/Moorpark Republican Women Federated, with proceeds benefiting the education and scholarship fund and the club’s donations to For The Troops.
The tour will take place rain or shine. Attendees should wear comfortable shoes and no heels. Strollers are not permitted.
