Field of Valor event to honor veterans

Rotarians to display 200 U.S. flags in park

The Moorpark Morning Rotary Club will honor the men and women who have served the United States military by hosting the city’s inaugural Field of Valor event on Memorial Day.

A display of 200 American flags will be set up at Tierra Rejada Park, 11900 Mountain Trail St., as a tribute to veterans of the armed forces who have died in combat or from natural causes.

Moorpark residents are invited to attend an opening ceremony at noon Mon., May 29, during which a procession of military veterans and community volunteers will carry the flags into the park.

Families can purchase one of the flags that will be on display in honor of someone who has served in the military.

Guests must purchase the flags prior to the event at MoorparkFieldofValor.org and will be allowed to take them home after the event.
