Event wonders, are residents tough enough?
April 26 brings college pentathlon
Students at Moorpark College want to know if locals are up to the fitness challenge.
All Moorpark residents are invited to compete in the college’s Raider Pentathlon on Wed., April 26.
The fifth annual competition consists of five events that will challenge participants’ physical fitness. At each event station, competitors will push themselves to complete as many repetitions as possible in one minute.
The competition begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Moorpark College quad, 7075 Campus Road, and will end at 3 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will support the Moorpark College fitness specialist program and campus Fitness Learning eXperience (FLeX) club.
Student volunteers in the college’s exercise science program will provide free fitness tests to evaluate participants’ body fat, posture and endurance.
Be The Match, a nonprofit run by the National Marrow Donor Program, will be on-site to provide information and give guests the opportunity to enroll in the bone marrow donation registry.
Early registration for the pentathlon is $20 until April 4. From April 5 to 25, registration will cost $25. On the day of the event, registration is $30.
Moorpark College faculty and staff can register for $10 at any time.
