Beach bus ready to roll

The Moorpark Summer Beach Bus will provide two trips to Zuma Beach in the morning and two afternoon return trips to Moorpark Tuesday through Thursday, June 12 through Aug. 16.

The bus will pick up and drop off riders at five locations in Moorpark. Following is the schedule with location and pickup/ return times. Trip 1 riders must return on Trip 3 bus; Trip 2 riders must return on Trip 4 bus.

Pickup in Moorpark: Campus Canyon School: 8:50 a.m., 11:30 a.m.; High Street NE of Magnolia: 9 a.m., 11:40 a.m.; Poindexter Park: 9:10 a.m., 11:50 a.m.; Arroyo Vista Community Park: 9:20 a.m., noon; and Peach Hill School: 9:30 a.m., 12:10 p.m. Trip 1 arrives at the beach 10:30 a.m. Trip 2 arrives 1:10 p.m.

Trip 3 leaves Zuma Beach at 2:30 p.m. Trip 4 leaves 5:10 p.m.

Return to Moorpark: Campus Canyon School: 3:30 p.m., 6:10 p.m.; High Street NE of Magnolia: 3:40 p.m., 6:20 p.m.; Poindexter Park: 3:50 p.m., 6:30 p.m.; Arroyo Vista Community Park: 4 p.m., 6:40 p.m. and Peach Hill Park: 4:10 p.m., 6:50 p.m.

The summer beach bus is open to the public and has storage space for beach accessories such as folding chairs, coolers, back packs, beach umbrellas and boogie boards.

Smoking, eating, drinking and rude or disruptive behavior are not allowed on the bus.

Arrival and departure times are approximate, and riders are asked to arrive at the bus stops 10 minutes prior to departure. Riders who are late or miss the return bus will need to find their own transportation back to Moorpark. The bus driver may refuse service to passengers who do not use the correct return trip.

The cost is $5 round trip for adults and students, and $2 for seniors age 62 and up. Children age 5 and under are free and must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible person age 16 or older. “Buy Three, Get One Free” bus passes are available at City Hall and Arroyo Vista Recreation Center.
