Moorpark Mayor Janice Parvin will receive the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation’s Woman of the Year Award on Fri., April 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hats Off To Women luncheon at California Lutheran University’s Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center, Thousand Oaks.

The event will have a fashion show, auction, health screenings and boutique. The keynote speaker, Wendi Knox, will speak on “Unzipping Your Inner Joy.”

Parvin has been a public servant for the City of Moorpark for more than 13 years.

She served on the original American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Committee in Moorpark, serves on the Moorpark Rotary Club Board of Directors and volunteers for the food pantry and Save the Parks.

Parvin was honored as Woman of the Year by the California State Assembly. She has received the Legend Award, Community Service Award and Woman of the Year Award from the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce.
