Nonprofits receive grants

During its spring 2012 grant cycle, the Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation gave $441,752 in grants to 20 nonprofit organizations that support Ventura County children and teens under age 18.

Harriet H. Samuelsson, an Oxnard philanthropist who died in 2004 at the age of 96, created the foundation with her estate.

The following organizations received grants: the Assistance League of Ventura County, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo & Las Virgenes, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, Caregivers: Volunteers Assisting the Elderly, City Impact, Conejo Hospice, El Centrito Family Learning Centers, Future Leaders of America, HELP of Ojai, Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association and Many Mansions.

Also, PDAP of Ventura County, Ride on L.A., School on Wheels, Special Equestrian Riding Therapy, Ventura County Council Boy Scouts of America, Ventura County Special Olympics, Wellness Community Valley/ Ventura, Westminster Free Clinic and YMCA of Southeast Ventura County.
