Jade Buddha statue on display in Ventura

An exhibition of the Jade Buddha statue and Holy Relics for Universal Peace will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 12 through 27 at the An Lac Mission, 901 S. Saticoy Ave., Ventura. Admission is free.

The opening ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Sat., Feb. 12 and the closing ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Sun., Feb. 27.

This year marks the 2,600th anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment.

The exhibition features the largest jade Buddha statue in the world, valued at $5 million, standing 8.9 feet tall and weighing 4 tons. The public is welcome to attend.
