      Simi Valley Town Center is the happening place on Friday afternoons since the opening of the Simi Valley Farmers Market. Vendors of fruits, vegetables, candles, spices, jewelry, tamales and more occupy 45 to 50 booths at the far end of the parking lot on Fridays from 3 to 8 p.m.

School band concert features Grammy winner
      Grammy award-winning saxophonist and jazz artist Bob Mintzer and the USC Thorton Jazz Orchestra, directed by Mintzer, will perform with the Moorpark High School Jazz A and B bands at 7 p.m. Tues., March 23 at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, 13950 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.

College hosts Haiti benefit
      The Moorpark College Choral Program will present a benefit concert for Haiti earthquake relief at 7:30 p.m. Mon., March 22 at Samuelson Chapel, California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks. The performance will feature Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem.” Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $10 for students and $10 for seniors and children.
