Cash for college available to disabled
      The California-Hawaii Elks Major Project Inc. board of trustees will offer scholarships for the academic year 2010-11 to students with disabilities. The program will offer 20 to 30 scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000 each. Scholarship recipients can reapply each year. If qualified, they can receive up to four years of assistance.

Resident gets degree
      Jenna Marie Miller of Moorpark received a Bachelor of Arts with a double major, Spanish and journalism, at the winter commencement ceremonies of Iowa State University. The school awarded 1,218 undergraduate degrees, 240 master’s degrees and 102 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Moorpark High alumni return for baseball game
Event will include home run derby
      Moorpark High School will host its 2010 Alumni Baseball Game at the school’s varsity field Sat., Feb. 20. A warm up baseball game between the junior varsity and freshmen teams will begin at 10 a.m. An alumni home run contest will be at 12:30 p.m., followed by the varsity baseball team vs. varsity alumni players.
