JOB WELL DONE—The Moorpark College women’s soccer team won the Western State Conference crown this season. The Moorpark College women’s soccer team enjoyed an unbeaten regular season that delivered the program its fifth Western State Conference title, and the second in three years.

The Lady Raiders posted a 16-0-4 regular-season record. Moorpark’s perfect run was finally brought to a halt in the Southern California semifinals by Santiago Canyon College, the team that went on to win a state title and receive the No. 1 ranking in the nation.

Western State Conference coaches voted Moorpark’s Lyndsey McClellan, a Simi Valley native, as the league’s most valuable player.

Moorpark’s Eric Privat was awarded coach of the year for the third time in four years.

In addition, a record number of Moorpark players were recognized by the Western State Conference.

First-team members are Leanna Aceves, Kristin Cameron, Ashley Cheney, Lindsey McClellan, Katie Rappazzo and Kaitlin Walter.

Second-team choices are Lynette Aceves, Kendall Dreyer, Stephanie Mankey and Breanna Sowell. Kaylee Finnan, Brooke Nixon and Sinead Vaughan were honorable mentions.

The roster also included Kylie Bamberger, Hailey Bright, Breana Brooskin, Amy Cole, Olivia Geckle, Natalee Flugum, Samantha Johnson, Faith McKenzie, Lizbeth Meza and assistant coach Mark Tietjen.
