Someone tried to cash a forged check with a resident of Ternez Drive. The victim was approached via e-mail. Aug. 15 Someone stole property from a garage on Harte Lane. The amount of the loss was not revealed. Aug. 18 A resident of Countrycreek reported that thieves tried to use a stolen Social Security number to open a new cellphone account. Aug. 20 Burglars stole property from a car parked on Huron Court, and items valued at $890 were stolen from a car parked on Maya Circle. Aug. 21 A man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at Walnut and Charles streets. Police also found a small amount of marijuana in his vehicle. Someone caused $120 in damage by lighting a table on fire at a community pool in the 1600 block of Countryspring Court. Thieves stole property from a car parked on Lafayette Court. The value of the loss was under $400. Aug. 22 Someone stole money from a pedestrian near the intersection of Unidos Avenue and Moorpark Road. Police arrested a 22-year-old who was in possession of a switchblade knife. The incident occurred near the intersection of Hitch Boulevard and Los Angeles Avenue. A man indecently exposed himself to a female victim in the 600 block of Moorpark Avenue. Police arrested a 19-year-old man for undisclosed probable causes at Williams Ranch Road. A 45-year-old man was arrested for stealing property at a store in the 800 block of Los Avenue. Vandals caused less than $400 in damage painting graffiti on windows of Café Firenze in the 500 block of Los Angeles Avenue. During an investigation of vandalism at Leta Yancy and James Weak Avenue, someone was arrested for possessing marijuana. Vandals caused $500 in damage to property in the 500 block of Los Angeles Avenue. Police arrested a woman who drove off the road and hit a dirt embankment near Walnut Canyon and Spring Road. She was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while driving. Another person was cited in the same area for possessing a glass pipe used to smoke narcotics. A man was arrested for allegedly injuring his girlfriend. The incident occurred on Birch Street. Police arrested a man in the 400 block of Los Angeles Avenue who had an outstanding warrant worth $26,000. Aug. 23 Someone was arrested for allegedly causing injury to a spouse. The incident occurred on Moorpark Road. On Moorpark Road police arrested a man who had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and had failed to appear in court as promised. A man was arrested for allegedly hurting his girlfriend, then keeping her captive in a garage for several hours while trying to convince her to lie to police about other matters. The incident occurred on Laurelview Drive. Two people brandished a knife and demanded money from someone in the north Metrolink parking lot. The victim ran away without cooperating. Thieves stole an in-dash stereo from an unlocked car parked in the first block of Majestic Court. Someone made criminal threats against another person on Williams Ranch Road. Aug. 25 Police arrested a woman who tried to steal goods from a store near Los Angeles Avenue and Collins Drive. Someone was cited with a $2,500 fine for allowing an unlicensed person to drive his vehicle. A person was cited at Spring Road near Los Angeles Avenue for placing false tags on his vehicle in an attempt to avoid registering the car. Someone without a valid license and driving a vehicle allegedly used in an incident involving indecent exposure was arrested at an undisclosed location in Moorpark. Police received a report that a person exposed himself to a victim at an undisclosed location. Aug. 26 Police cited a street vendor who was operating without a permit at Ruth Avenue and Millard Street. An 18-year-old man violated his probation terms in the 15700 block of Villa Del Arroyo. He was arrested and held with bail set at $5,000. Aug. 27 Thieves stole merchandise from a car parked in the 500 block of Moorpark Avenue. Police arrested an 18-year-old man for allegedly possessing stolen property. The incident occurred on Mesa Verde Drive. A 27-year-old man was arrested for interfering with an investigation. The incident occurred at an undisclosed location in Moorpark. A drunk driver was arrested at Purdue Street and Auburn Circle. He also was driving on a suspended license. |
