Local girls excel at national softball event

TOP FIVE IS FINE— The Moorpark Gold U-12 Softball team placed fifth out of 58 teams during a national tournament at Oregon. Team members are Alex Lopez, Lauren Cowden, Nikki Gomez, Sarah Conway, Karli Robinson, Christina Spadafora, Lydia Strumlauf, Danielle Tondreau, Alexa Curt, Kaylyn Yawn, Niki Green and Julianne Fetchet. Patrick Lopez is the head coach and Rhonda Curt, Richard Yawn, Curt Strumlauf and Mario Gomez are the assistants.
