Money for the homeless should be spent more wisely
      After reading the article, "Homeless students in Ventura County to receive federal stimulus dollars" ( Moorpark Acorn , July 17), I realized just why the stimulus program isn't working. The article indicated three schools will receive $43,774 and the County Office of Education will receive $197,000.

Helmet ticket costs much more than just $25
      For your information, a friend's 13-year-old son was ticketed for riding a skateboard without a helmet, and the cost was $165, not the $25 reported in your article. Perhaps it was due to fees and other penalties? Please let Moorpark parents know the true cost.
