The city of Moorpark's annual Fireworks Extravaganza will take place Fri., July 3 at Arroyo Vista Community Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark.

Gates will open at 3:45 p.m., and activities begin at 4 p.m. The all-aerial fireworks display will occur at about 9 p.m.

The Daddy-O's oldies rock band, The Hodads and the winner of the Moorpark Battle of the Bands will provide live music.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department will have a flag presentation.

Patriotic prizes will be awarded for family games such as gunny sack races and tug of war.

Special attractions will include bounce tents, obstacle courses, slides, climbing walls and carnival games.

Residents may bring their own picnic dinner or purchase food at two food courts. Tri-tip, chicken, hot dogs, funnel cake, pizza, kettle corn, shave ice, nachos and ice cream will be sold.

Attendees will need to bring their own lawn seating.

Alcohol, pets and personal fireworks are not permitted.

Admission is $3 per person. Children 4 and under are free.
