SHOWIN' THEIR STUFF—Above, local rock band Ichorous brings a high energy act to the High Street Arts Center for the theater's inaugural Battle of the Bands last Saturday. Cobalt Skies, which tied for first with The Catch and Waves, will perform at the city's annual Fireworks Extravaganza on July 3 at Arroyo Vista Community Park. Programs cancelled, class sizes to increase

School leaders this week reluctantly canceled optional programs and agreed to increase class size to maintain core programs and balance the district's 2009-2010 budget.
