Save energy, prevent SCE's powerline project

What does conserving electricity really mean to all who live or work in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Moorpark?

It means a lower electric bill, providing immediate savings by keeping more money in your pocket. No TARP funds or government assistance required, just small, simple actions on all of our part.

It also means we collectively reduce demand so that Southern California Edison (SCE) need not spend $40 million for the construction of the Presidential Substation Project, which will otherwise be passed on to us through higher rates.

Conservation can stop SCE from placing massive, hideous transmission lines along the beautiful corridor of Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and the Tierra Rejada Valley. It can preserve scenic vistas, wildlife corridors, open space and agricultural resources.
