Kiwanis fundraiser a success

This past Sunday, Kiwanis held their third annual Wine and Moonlight fundraiser, which benefits the youth of Moorpark.

It was a delightful afternoon of wine tasting, delicious food from local restaurants and outstanding music by a local jazz band. We were pleased to hold this event at The Secret Garden on High Street in their beautiful garden venue.

A variety of local restaurants participated and provided the over 130 guests with delicious desserts, snacks and appetizers. They included: The Secret Garden, Camille's Sidewalk Cafe, Cuppy's Coffee, Bill's Big Z Pizza, The Dugout, West Coast Pizza, The Hub and the High Street Arts Center.

To accompany the food and festivities, a variety of top-notch local wineries—Cantara Cellars, Herzog Wine Cellars, Laraneta Winery, Summerland Winery and Wade's Wines—offered guests a variety of wine samples and information.

Entertainment was provided by the Moorpark Jazz Ensemble made up of Moorpark High School musicians Matt Gooch, Hunter Van Dam, Kevin Grasel and Tyler Van Dam. This amazing group put on an unforgettable performance.

We are thankful for everyone who participated and who donated items for the auctions, and we hope to see more of Moorpark at next year's event. Mark and Ute Van Dam Moorpark The Van Dams are members of the Moorpark Kiwanis Club.
