The 26th annual California Strawberry Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun., May 16 and 17 at Strawberry Meadows of College Park, 3250 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard.

The event features vendors selling strawberry-based food and drink, cooking and berry decorating demonstrations and 300 fine arts and crafts booths.

Strawberryland For Kids at the "Jest in Time" tent will feature puppet shows, comedy, juggling, magic, rides, contests and the Star Berry Hunt.

Musical groups will perform nonstop all day on two stages. Following is the performance schedule:

Sat., May 16 Festival Stage: Hammersmith (harmonica, blues), Jeanne Tatum and Co. (smooth rhythm, blues), Toni Dodd and Southbound Blues (rockin' blues), Emilbus formerly the Ska Daddies (reggae, ska, rock), R&B Bombers (rhythm and blues).

Sat., May 16 Dr. Kato Stage: U.S. Air Force Band (big band Americana), Freddy Fender Jr. (country tribute), Platinum Rock Stars (tribute to Foreigner, Van Halen, more), Led Zepplica (Led Zeppelin tribute)

Sun., May 17 Festival Stage: Bluez Boyz (jump swing), Big Adventure (progressive rock), Savor (Santana tribute), House Arrest (rhythm and blues), Disco Inferno (disco).

Sun., May 17 Dr. Kato Stage: Channelaires (barbershop harmony), Cannibal & the Headhunters featuring Pat Vega of Redbone (Latin funk), Colour My World (Chicago tribute), Don't Stop Believing (Journey tribute).

Free park-and-ride express shuttles will be available. Check the website below for departure times and locations.

Amtrak offers a special festival weekend "kids ride free" discount promotion.

Limited parking will also be available for $5 on site.

General admission is $12, seniors 62 and up at $8 and children ages 5 to 12 at $5. Children 4 and under are admitted free. Active military and dependents with ID are $8. Special VIP tickets can be purchased in advance.

The event provides funds for local nonprofit organizations, scholarships and philanthropic grants.
