State could save money if it sold San Quentin
I am sick and tired of the politicians threatening to cut crucial programs if the voters don't pass these propositions ("Upcoming ballot is all about the budget," Moorpark Acorn , May 8). Our state has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

Council candidate was there to greet aca-deca team
I find it interesting that Linda Foster had the nerve to criticize Mayor Janice Parvin and council candidate David Bagwell for not being at the aca-deca reception when she didn't take any time out of her schedule to attend the reception ("Who wasn't there to greethe MHS aca-deca team?

If elected, Miller says he'll be ready to lead
As a candidate for City Council I appreciate being mentioned in print. I respect people's opinions and their right to voice support for the candidate of their choice. That right does not include presenting distortions as truth and must be tempered with accuracy.

Five previous Moorpark mayors can't be wrong
I believe the best, most productive people in public office are those who can listen to, work with and unify constituents with divergent viewpoints. In the years I have known David Pollock, he has shown that ability.

I am writing to try and set the record straight about David Bagwell. My family had the pleasure of contracting Bagwell Construction to do an addition in our home a few years back, and we were not disappointed. Our construction was done in the late fall, and we were worried about it impacting our Christmas holiday.

Vocal teacher says candidate a voice for education
Moorpark is a community I know and love, and I have seen many elected officials come and go, but David Pollock has impressed me as being an extraordinary leader. Moorpark High School is known for its academics, but it also provides a substantial education in the arts. This is no small feat given the extreme constraints on public school budgets.

Bagwell the right guy for the job
I have known David Bagwell since he started Bagwell Construction and have worked with his company on a number of projects. In my business dealings with him, I have found him to be an honest businessman who fulfills his commitments.

Let's elect a proven leader to the City Council
On May 19 the citizens of Moorpark have the opportunity to make an investment in our city, and it won't cost them one single dollar. David Pollock is asking for your vote for City Council. David Pollock is a name that should sound familiar. He has already been providing service to our city by serving on the school board for the past 14 years.
