Don't miss a Day in the Park
KIDS LOVE FIRE TRUCKS—A chance to get up close with a fire engine is one of the many family-friendly activities during tomorrow's Day in the Park, starting at 11 a.m. at Arroyo Vista Park. The city of Moorpark will host the second annual Day in the Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow, May 9 at Arroyo Vista Park, 4500 Tierre Rejada Park.
The event will feature a kid's expo, youth sports groups, children's vendors, Kiwanis child ID kits and hands-on activities. Entertainment includes a dance, live music and a puppet show.
Touch-a-truck will include a back hoe, dump truck, police vehicles and free city bus rides.
The Moorpark Police Department and CHP will also host the inaugural Bike Rodeo at the event. This hands-on activity teaches children about bike safety. Children should bring bicycles and helmets.
An Earth Day celebration will feature recycling information, compost bins, environmental displays and tree information. Free trees will be given away.
Admission is free, but some activities will have a small charge.
