Scholarships available for summer musical theater camp

The High Street Arts Center, in association with Gypsy Productions, presents the 2009 Summer Musical Theater Camp, which will culminate in four performances of the musicals "Once Upon a Mattress" for children and "Big" for teens.

Rehearsals will begin June 22 at the California Dance Theatre, 5863 Kanan Road, Agoura Hills.

Performances will be July 24 through Aug. 2 at the arts center, 45 E. High St., Moorpark.

Scholarship applications are due by 5 p.m. May 29, and cast auditions will begin June 19.

The arts center will sponsor five scholarships worth $725 each to applicants chosen at random. Scholarship winners will fully participate in the program, including all auditions, rehearsals and performances.

Scholarship applicants must be fulltime residents of Moorpark and have the permission of a parent or guardian.
