Local hospitals on swine flu alert
      County health officials confirmed Wednesday that two Oxnard boys were diagnosed with the swine flu. Their ages were not released. One reported death in the U.S. has been attributed to the recent outbreak, which first surfaced last month in Mexico.

Walk to Defeat ALS this Sunday
      The fifth annual Walk to Defeat ALS will be Sun., May 3 at Plaza Park, 651 E. Thompson Blvd., Ventura. The event is part of the continued campaign by the ALS Association, Greater Los Angeles Chapter to raise awareness and funding for the fight against ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
