Moorpark Arts Festival is downtown on Sunday

The annual Moorpark Arts Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., April 26 at various venues in downtown and along High Street.

At the Civic Center at 799 Moorpark Ave., interactive arts will be available for children, including a special craft project and face painting by Creative Works by Camille.

The landscapes of featured artist Kathy Ikerd will be on display and a ceramics demonstration will be presented.

An exhibit of drawing and painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics and gourd art will contain artwork for sale.

The Civic Center will also host a Youth Art Exhibit along with live musical performances.

Selections from the 2007 and 2008 "My Home Town" and the 2008 "As I See It" photography projects.

The Moorpark City Library will host "Dia de los Ninos" (Day of the Child). The program will include an exhibit of prizewinning art from the California Coastal Commission's annual contest, a special craft project by Moorpark Family Resource Center/First 5, bilingual story time and the bilingual magic show of Rafael and Katia.

The library is next door to the Civic Center at 699 Moorpark Ave.,

The High Street Arts Center at 45 E. High St. will showcase performances by local bands, dance groups, singers, and a variety of musicians.

Next door to the arts center, on

he corner of High Street and Moorpark Avenue, the High Studio Fine Art Gallery will host an exhibit of

andscapes by area artists.
