Sweet leads in campaign fundraising, spending

With the May 19 City Council election only a month away, campaign signs are popping up all over Moorpark. A former Moorpark resident was recently sentenced to 11 years in state prison for the 2007 sexual assault of a developmentally disabled woman. Sean Edward Carroll, 39, of Palmdale, had been found guilty of assault with intent to commit rape, penetration with a foreign object, and assault with a deadly weapon. More...

Brush clearance helps to stop wildfires
The Ventura County Fire Department will mail nearly 14,000 weed abatement notices on April 20 to property owners with land covered under the Fire Hazard Reduction Program.
