WENDY PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers SAMUEL LANGHORNE CLEMENS—Arroyo West Elementary School second grader Mark Sherman, 7, portrays Mark Twain at a biography celebration on April 3 at the school. Second-grade students picked an influential person in history to research, and then dressed up as that person to share their findings with other classmates. Two second-grade classrooms participated and shared pictures, timelines and fun facts about people like Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King Jr., Dolly Madison, George Washington and Rosa Parks.
