Residents can drop off trash for free
      Free landfill day for Moorpark residents will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., April 19 at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 2801 Madera Road, north of the 118 Freeway. Moorpark residents can safely and properly dispose of accumulated household waste and recycle yard trimmings.

      The California Highway Patrol will offer a free Start Smart traffic safety program for teenage drivers and their parents at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., April 16 at the Moorpark Area CHP office in the Moorpark Police Services Center on Spring Street.

Library hosts day of reading
      The Moorpark City Library will celebrate Día de los Niños/ Día de los Libros (Day of the Child/Day of the Book) on Sun., April 26 in conjunction with the Moorpark Arts Festival.
