Marmonte grapplers deliver payback at league finals

      Love them or hate them, Royal High's wrestling squad proved once again why they are the cream of the crop in the Marmonte League. During the Marmonte League Wrestling Finals held at Simi Valley High last Saturday, six Highlanders claimed individual championships, matching last year's effort by RHS.

Northern Area's football proposal draws heavy criticism

      Northern Area representatives in charge of putting together high school sports leagues for the 2010 through 2014 seasons voted 3123 in favor of forming a four-team private-school league for football only on Tuesday in Santa Barbara.

Youth wrestling tryouts underway
      Devil Pup youth wrestling tryouts are ongoing in Moorpark through Feb. 26. Tryouts are open to all boys ages 10 through 18. The cost to join is $285 for the first wrestler and $150 for a second wrestler. A copy of a wrestler's birth certificate is required. Competition travel is also required.
