Film explores Islam religion
      "Farewell Israel," a documentary film portraying the threat of fundamentalist Islam to the Western world, will be shown at 1 p.m. Sun., Feb. 22 at Congregation B'nai Emet, 9 W. Bonita St., Simi Valley. Joel Gilbert, a graduate of the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies and the London School of Economics, produced the film.

Speaker to reflect on Martin Luther's writing
      The Rev. Kapp Johnson will examine one of Martin Luther's works in a lecture titled, "Liberty for Whom, Freedom for What? Reflections on Luther's 'Freedom of a Christian' in a Post-Christian World" at 4 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 19 in the Roth Nelson Room on Mountclef Boulevard near Memorial Parkway on the campus of California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks.

Mah jongg tourney
      The Sisterhood of Temple Ner Ami will sponsor a mah jongg tournament from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., Feb. 22 at the temple, 4098 Calle Tesoro, Ste. D, Camarillo. Proceeds will benefit educational and temple programs.
