Neil Simon classic opens at arts center

The High Street Arts Center will present Neil Simon's "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" at 8 p.m. tonight, Feb. 6 at the theater, 45 E. High St., Moorpark.

The show runs through March 8. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

This comedy is about Mel, a well paid executive of a New York company. He is fired from his job, his psychiatrist dies, his apartment is robbed and the polluted air is killing his terrace garden. Unable to cope, Mel suffers a nervous breakdown.

The cast has J.C. Bishop, Lois Lorback, Howard Leader, Helene Benjamin, Joanne Zahorsky-Reeves and Sharon Gibson. Paul Millet is the director.

The cost is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and $8 for children 12 and under. Group discounts are available.
