Restaurant receives license The Moorpark Planning Commission voted to grant a conditional use permit that will allow a new restaurant on the northwest part of High Street to sell alcoholic beverages. Following a brief debate to ensure that public safety and parking concerns were addressed, commissioners unanimously voted to approve the conditional use permit to allow the Jekyll and Hide Sports Bar and Restaurant to sell alcoholic beverages from 10 a.m to midnight. "Food service should be available at all times when alcohol is served so the venue won't be used strictly as a bar," said city planner Joseph Fiss. According to Richard Gray, landlord for the property, the applicant also operates the Firehouse Café in Simi Valley. "We're very excited to have a new restaurant on High Street," said Bill Amador, an architect who owns a business nearby. - Sylvie Belmond |
