Flory students go into the garden
Children decorate stepping stones
Flory Academy of Sciences & Technology Booster Club treated students to Garden Day on April 10.
Booster Club board members along with Ron Mendez and Ronnie Mendez Jr., owners of Construction Management Services, set new stepping stones for "Alice's Garden" on the school campus.
Each teacher and classroom was assigned to decorate a cement square with marbles, tiles and objects, along with their classroom number. The students and teachers worked together on the squares in the wet cement.
Board members present at Garden Day were Tanya Mendez, Denise Horton, Brian Angel, Sarah Rolfe, and Doug Ridley.
The tile decorating was in preparation for an upcoming brick laying ceremony next month where engraved bricks, sold as a fundraiser, will be set as pathways in the garden.
The Booster Club works with the school to raise money to provide quality education and to maintain the school's science and technology equipment.
