At the Library
•The Moorpark City Library will host noted children's book author and illustrator Deborah Nourse Lattimore at noon Sun., May 4 at the library, 699 Moorpark Ave.
Lattimore will share her thoughts about illustrating children's books.
She is the author of such titles as "I Wonder What's Under There? A Brief History of Underwear," "The Sailor Who Captured the Sea and Other Celtic Tales," "Frida Maria: A Story of the Old Southwest," and "CinderHazel: The Cinderella of Halloween."
She will also jury the art contest.
Lattimore's appearance is held in conjunction with the Moorpark Arts Festival.
•Also on May 4, the bilingual team of Melissa Elliott, Youth Services librarian, and Angelica Paredes, library page, and others will present storytelling at 1 and 2 p.m.
•Certificates and prizes will be presented to participants and winners of the Young Illustrator Contest at 3 p.m., accompanied by a Happy 25th Birthday Moorpark cake.

Matboard for mounting artwork may be obtained at the library.
The library will be open special hours on May 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. instead of the regular schedule of 1 to 5 p.m.
