      Freedom Alliance has opened the application period for the Military Leadership Academy. The academy educates, motivates and inspires student leaders, and has graduated more than 700 high school students since its inception in 2001.

      The Alliance for the Arts, the official fundraising arm of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, has announced the nine student finalists who will perform at the second annual Richard Carpenter Scholarship competition on Sat., May 10 at the Countrywide Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks.
