Church to host college concert

Lighthouse Bible Church will host a concert by the singing group Majesty of the Master's College in Santa Clarita at 6:30 p.m. Sun., April 27 at the church, 4910 Cochran St., Simi Valley.

The Master's College is an accredited Christian liberal arts college, offering more than 50 academic programs of study with an emphasis on the Bible. Bible expositor and author Dr. John MacArthur serves as the college president.

Sunday worship services are at 8:30 and 11:15 a.m., with Pastor Roger Willis speaking. Sunday School for all ages is at 10 a.m.

Following are other weekly programs: Ladies Bible Study at 1 p.m. Monday, Youth Eternity Bible Study at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Family Fellowship at 7 p.m. Tuesday; Awana at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and College/ Career Study at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Peace music in Simi Valley

OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living will host its annual Peace Concert at 7 p.m. tonight, Fri., May 4 at 1756 Erringer Road, Simi Valley.

The concert is in conjunction with the center's involvement with the Association For Global New Thought and the Season for Nonviolence, an annual 64-day program from Jan. 30 to April 4 which marks the memorials of both Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi.

The concert will feature some of the New Thought movement's greatest musicians, including Daniel NahmodHarold Payne, Karen MitchellAndy Howe, Joy Perpoli, Larry Perpoli, John O'Kennedy, Beverly Mickins, and Dennis Merritt Jones.

The concert is offered on a love-offering basis. Children are welcome.

Benefit to feature pop to gospel

was held on Easter Sunday, 1998A benefit concert for Christian Associates International will be held 7 p.m. Sat., April 26 at the Scherr Theatre in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The concert will include various styles and genres from pop to gospel to time honored hymnsScheduled performers are Dove Award-winning gospel artist Crystal Lewis, local recording artist Kendall Payne, and Chad and Erica Reisser of The Dailies.

Tickets are $100 and parking is free. Proceeds will go to Christian Associates International, a European church planting ministry.

Unity celebrates 10th anniversary

Unity of the Oaks Church presents the third annual Music Fest supper club event at 6:30 p.mFri., April 11 at the Thousand Oaks Inn Naylor's Banquet Center, 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The event celebrates the church's 10 years of service in the Conejo Valley.

The fest includes a number of musicians, including the church band.

The church was founded by Rev. Irma Oestmann as the Unity Center Church. The first service The Rev. Molly Rockey is the current pastor.

Services are held each Sunday at 10 a.m. at 1401 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks.

United Methodists go green for fair

In celebration of Earth Day, the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village will host an informative fun-fair from 8:45 a.m. to noon Sun., April 6 on the church patio, 1049 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

The fair will feature free reuseable tote bags, tips for ecofriendly living, locally grown produce, and energy saving tips.

The public is welcomed.

T.O. synagogue goes Broadway

The Greatest Generation Tuesday Social group of Temple Adat Elohim will host "Broadway Comes to Thousand Oaks" from 2 to 4 p.m. Tues., April 8 at the synagogue, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The performers from The Bob and Bernie Show will showcase a number of show tunes at the event.

Nonmembers and members age 60 and up are invited. Refreshments will be served.
