Workshop to assist seniors in filing 2007 tax returns

Residents need to file a 2007 income tax return to receive the tax rebate recently enacted by Congress as part of the stimulus package.

Older adults who do not normally file a return may attend a free Tax Rebate Workshop at 12:30 p.m. Wed., April 2 at the Moorpark Active Adult Center, 799 Moorpark Ave.

A trained volunteer from AARP Income Tax Assistance Program will provide stepbystep instructions on completing a tax return.

Participants need to bring income information, such as Social Security annual statement or other pension statement. The center will provide 1040 and 1040A forms.
