Fortnightlys host art show

The Moorpark Women's Fortnightly Club will hold the annual Student Art Fair from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tues., March 18 in Peach Hill Academy's multipurpose room, 13400 Christian Barrett Drive, Moorpark.

The fair is open to students in kindergarten through grade 12 from all Moorpark public schools.

Participants' artwork will be in several mediums, including construction paper collages, watercolors, oils and chalk renderings.

First-, second- and third-place ribbons will be awarded to each participating school's grade levels. One best in show and monetary scholarships will be awarded to three schools to use toward their art programs.

Judges for the event are Carolyn Finley, Betty Hackman, Iris Karignan, Jean Amador and Theresa Nelesen.

All first-place winners will be displayed at the Tierra Adorada District Federation of Women's Clubs regional Fine Art Show on March 25 in Goleta. Entrants will compete against other schools in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
