Police honor outstanding deputy Dep. Frances Saleh has been chosen as the Moorpark Rotary Club's 2007 Officer of the Year for the Moorpark Police Department. Saleh began her career with the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department in 1999 and has been a deputy sheriff for nine years. After graduating from the academy, Saleh was assigned to the PreTrial Detention Facility at the Government Center in Ventura. Her assignments at the jail included working Women's Booking and the Medical Housing Unit. She was also a jail training officer, teaching jail operations to new deputies. After approximately one year, Saleh was transferred to the East Valley Jail where she remained until her transfer to patrol. She served for six months in the city of Thousand Oaks, and then transferred to the city of Moorpark where she is currently working patrol. In Moorpark, Saleh became a field training officer, teaching new patrol officers in all aspects of the patrol function. She is also a member of the Crisis Intervention Team and i s bilingual certified. Saleh was selected for the Officer of the Year award because she is consistently one of the top deputies in arrests, citations and reports for the Moorpark Police Services center, and holds a superior performance record. Saleh was honored by the Rotary Club at a recent luncheon held at the Moorpark Country Club. The Rotarians have hosted the luncheon and award ceremony for the last 21 years. |
