Local gifted education leader honored
      Chris Kelley, Moorpark Unified's GATE (Gifted And Talented Education) coordinator, was recently awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Pacific Region of the California Association for the Gifted at the statelevel conference.

      The California Lutheran University Community Leaders Association recently presented scholarships to students. The following area freshmen each received $1,500: Timothy Chandler, an accounting major from Moorpark, and Gina MarinelloSweeney, a liberal studies major from Thousand Oaks.
