Suspect arrested for attempted murder
Resident stabbed at local restaurant

Jonathan Linder, 21, of Thousand Oaks, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder during a fight at the Chuy's Mesquite Broiler in Moorpark.

An argument erupted between two groups of patrons at the restaurant at about 7:05 p.m. Feb. 23. Manuel Magdaleno, 26, of Moorpark, and his friends argued with Linder and his associates.

The verbal argument turned physical, with Magdaleno and a person in Linder's group throwing punches at each other. During the fight, Linder allegedly stabled Magdaleno in the back with a small folding knife.

Magdaleno received a 3inch laceration to the center of his back. He was taken to Los Robles Hospital for treatment.

During the followup investigation, the police identified Linder, who decided to turn himself over to the police.

He was arrested on Feb. 24 and is being held at the PreTrial Detention Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail.
