Website promotes socially conscious business

Social Good Marketing and Design Inc. announced recently the launch of the Social Good Business Network, an online directory of socially conscious businesses in Ventura County.

Basic listings on the site are free, but organizations must show and certify, via a short application process, that they are socially conscious.

Still in the testing stages, the site's directory has already approved applications from Patagonia, Dennis Allen Associates, Women's Economic Ventures and others.

Tea Silvestre, CEO of Social Good Marketing and Design Inc., said she launched the website as a way to promote and honor local enterprises who conduct business according to standards that "reach beyond contemporary practices in addressing the needs of consumers, employees, the community and the environment."
