Introduction to scouting Moorpark Girl Scouts invites girls in grades K through 12 to experience "Go, Girl!" Scouting 101, a six-evening exploration of Girl Scouting and spring recruiting drive. The kick-off event will be Tues., Feb. 19 from 5:45 to 7 p.m. at the Moorpark United Methodist Church, Mahan Hall, 261 Flory Ave. Parents/guardians are required to attend with their daughters. At the kick-off, girls will learn the Girl Scout Promise and Law, explore arts and craft projects with experienced scouts, learn songs, play games, and earn their first Girl Scout badge. The adults will explore what Girl Scouting is about, receive information on additional programs, and learn how to make the most of the Girl Scout experience. The six-week program and scout membership is $15 per girl and $10 for adult registration, which is required for each girl's participation. To RSVP, call Nikki De La Torre at (805) 231-9352.
