School district to show video on learning disabilities

Moorpark Unified School District and All Special Kids will show the acclaimed learning disabilities video "How Difficult Can This Be? The F.A.T. City Workshop" at 7 p.m. Wed., Jan. 30 at Arroyo West School, 4117 Countryhill Road, Moorpark.

Diane Weis, school district program specialist, will moderate a discussion after the showing.

The 70-minute video, which is in English, allows viewers to experience the same Frustration, Anxiety and Tension (FAT) that students with learning disabilities face in their daily lives.

In the video, renowned learning disabilities expert Richard Lavoie leads a workshop with parents, friends, educators, psychologists and social workers and discusses strategies for working more effectively with children who struggle.
