Arts center opens 'On Golden Pond'
Play looks at interactions of three generations

The High Street Arts Center will open the play "On Golden Pond" by Ernest Thompson at 8 p.m. Fri., Feb. 1 at 45 E. High St., Moorpark.

Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. The play runs through March 2.

Rolland Petrello is the director. The cast includes Don Pearlman, Helene Benjamin, Michael German, Christine Zirbel, Austin Miller, and Larkin Campbell.

This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the 48th year. They are visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter and her dentist fiancé, who goes off to Europe and leaves his teenage son behind for the summer.

The boy becomes the "grandchild" the elderly couple has longed for. As the summer wanes, so does their brief idyll, and Norman and Ethel are brought closer together by a mild heart attack.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $8 for children 12 and under. Group discounts are available.
