Tribute to Harry and Franco

Franco Cangelosi Harry Abrahamian
For over 20 years, Harry Abrahamian and his soninlaw, Franco Cangelosi, served the community of Moorpark through Moorpark Cleaners. Through the years, some of the faces changed, but the backbone of the business remained the same- the family.

"The city of Moorpark has grown tremendously since the early 1980s and so have the families of our friends and neighbors who supported us," said Franco. "We saw the children of our clients, whom we gave lollipops to, grow up and also become patrons," he remembers.

After having raised eight of his nine children in Moorpark (three of his sons still attend school here), and having made so many friends, it was very hard to leave one of the things that made them a part of the community- the business.

After an accident in February 2007 left him bed ridden, Mr. Abrahamian passed away only a few months later in April 2007. He was such a fixture in Moorpark and had touched the lives of many.

"He missed the birth of my youngest daughter in May and also the wedding of his favorite granddaughter that same month," reminisces Cangelosi.

In October 2007, the cleaners was sold abruptly and "neither Harry nor I got to say goodbye to our many friends, some who still did not know of his passing," says Franco.

The Cangelosis still see some of their old friends in Moorpark through their children's involvement in school. Franco is now employed by Joseph A. Banks Clothiers in the Simi Valley Town Center.

"I still get to see a lot of familiar faces, most who wondered where we went, and thanks to Steve Carlson and the Moorpark Acorn, Harry gets a chance to say 'goodbye' to a community he felt was family to him for may years." The Cangelosi Family Moorpark
