Eco-friendly medical office plaza prepares for ground breaking

The Peach Mill Medical Professional Plaza under construction in Moorpark is using cuttingedge technology and environmentally responsible building practices.

Project developer Larry Greene said, "We are doing something no one else in Ventura County has ever tried before. We are creating a beautiful stateoftheart medical office condo building that utilizes a wide array of environmentally responsible building practices."

Greene's plan for Peach Hill includes incorporating sustainable features such as using recycled building materials, ecofriendly construction products, energy efficient building techniques, solar technology and drought tolerant landscaping in the 36,500-square-foot project.

Greene anticipates that the project will eventually earn the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System's highest platinum designation. This rating system is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

The general contractor is Thomas Kestly of Kestly Building Company, Inc.

CB Richard Ellis office brokers, Michael Slater, Tom Dwyer and Jennifer Rice, are handling the presale activity for the condos. Two units are in escrow.

Ground breaking for the project will take place Jan. 22 and construction should be completed by October.
