More light, less crime

Outdoor lighting can help prevent crime.

Placing a spotlight or floodlight at the edge of a flower bed pointing toward the house will illuminate the side of the house facing the light. Anyone who walks between the house and the light source will create a huge shadow on the house.

Criminals try to avoid brightly lighted spaces. Gigantic shadows of a moving object would be visible to anyone in the area.

When planning home improvements for spring, consider adding a light to the yard. This lighting can easily be implemented in holiday colors, adding extra security to a home over the holiday season.

Try placing lights in various positions to find the one that works best to protect family and property.
