Library offers rewards for card sign up

November is Library Card sign-up month at the Moorpark City Library.

This month all new library card applicants will receive a colorful bag filled with information and items, including a 50 percent off coupon from the Moorpark Cold Stone Creamery.

Everyone who gets a card will be entered into a raffle for an ice cream basket valued at more than $90 and other daily prizes.

A library card is a valuable and economical resource. Those who buy books and magazines, rent DVDs, pay for Internet service, purchase music CDs or pay for tutoring could save money each month by visiting the library and using their card.

The library is open seven days a week. Services include free programs and story times, free access to more than 72 million magazine articles, free online homework tutoring in English and Spanish, free interlibrary loans from other libraries and free in-depth reference questions answered.
