Author Debra Lynne Katz is leading an eightweek class on developing one's psychic abilities from 8 to 10 p.m. from November to January at her home in Old Town Moorpark.

Students will practice the techniques described in her first two books, "You Are Psychic: The Art of Clairvoyant Reading and Healing" and "Extraordinary Psychic: Proven Techniques to Master Your Natural Psychic Abilities."

Students will learn how to develop their extrasensory perception skills, such as clairvoyance, which is a specific psychic ability that allows them to access information about any subject in the form of visions and pictures.

Students also learn various modes of energetic healing that can be used to help others overcome various challenges.

Katz has been teaching these techniques to hundreds of people over the past decades.

To provide students with volunteers to practice on, Katz will offer free readings and healings to the public during the sessions.
